Mazars is supporting the Danish Heart Foundation’s “Do something for the heart” campaign.

Every day 10 Danes collapse with a heart attack. Only one survives. The Danish Heart Foundation wants to improve these statistics with its “Do something for the heart” campaign. The campaign aims to train at least 250,000 Danes in life-saving first aid and raise DKK 15 million, among other things to throw light on why heart attacks happen.
Mazars decided to support the campaign by making a donation to the “Charlies Hjertegalla” television appeal show on 19 November.
Research and training save lives
The target for the “Do something for the heart” campaign is that twice as many Danes should survive a heart attack by 2020. This will be achieved through research and by training Danes in life-saving first aid.
A heart attack can strike anytime, anywhere, so it is important to be prepared. Time is the crucial factor when someone collapses with a heart attack. After 4-6 minutes without oxygen, the brain begins to suffer permanent damage. And for every minute that passes before help arrives, a person's chances of surviving drop by 10%.
Only 33% of people know how to make a difference
A heart attack victim’s chances of surviving are 200-300% greater if the people who witness the attack administer life-saving first aid. This happens in only 33% of cases where other people are present.
That is why Mazars, in addition to making a donation to the campaign, has just had all its employees trained in how to use our defibrillator and administer cardiac massage. So, if the need arises, we too can help make a difference and improve the statistics.
